WIMBLEDON DATES
: Last week in June and first week in July - 2008:
23th June - 6th July - 2009:
22nd June - 5th July
Shouldn't
you be coming to the Wimbledon 2008 tournament !! : June
23th to July 6th
|
Wimbledon remains the crown jewel of tennis.
The championship caters for just under half a million visitors
each year and is held over 20 courts. Wimbledon Centre court
and Number One court are the two showcases of the tournament.
This year [2008] the championship starts on the 23th
of June (rain stoppages permitting) ending Sunday the 6th
of July.
Wimbledon tickets demand frequently outstrips supplies,
we strongly recommend that you obtain your tickets as early
as possible. The last few days of the championship
consistently see prices rocketing making Centre Court's
tickets only available at a premium. Wimbledon is situated
to the southwest of Central London approximately 6
miles [10 km] from the city center and is within easy reach
from the 4 main surrounding airports, Heathrow - Gatwick
- Stansted and Luton.
Allthough the venue has many car parks located near to the
tennis grounds, we do recommend the use of public transport
which will be scheduled during the tournament to specifically
provide adequate travel interconnectivity between the tube
[subway], taxis, coach Park and Ride, special buses
and railway services.
The Wimbledon Championship is organized and supervised
with expected typical english efficiency, all
major services, from transport, tickets, banking, crowd
management, police and medical emergency assistance are
fully provisioned for.
The English Grand Slam is a must tennis experience. What
are you waiting for? Shouldn't you be coming to Wimbledon?
